Harry Rose

Harry was born in Detroit, Michigan to Mayor (Mark) and Mulka (Mollie) Rose. He was the youngest of 5 children including Bob, Lou, Ralph and Beatrice. He also had a step brother, Jack. He lost his mother when he was 13 and his father at 19. His first marriage lasted 20 years and produced four children, Molly, Mark, Nina and Kathy. His second marriage also lasted 20 years and he acquired two step children Cherie and Pam. While in Detroit he trained and worked as an electrician. In 1957, an impulsive decision was made to move the family out to California where he settled in the San Fernando Valley and became a realtor. He loved working in real estate, and was an excellent salesman. He moved to San Diego in 1971 and then on to Palm Desert in 1975 and took up the game of golf. If you asked him when he was the happiest, it would have been the years he spent in Palm Desert. Harry always enjoyed visits from his five grandchildren, all boys, Chris, Craig, Josh, Kyle and Shawn.  After several years of symptoms Harry was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1990. Harry returned to San Diego in 2000 and then to Grants Pass, Oregon in 2008.
